Queen Noor and the Prada

Her: [signing in really pretty English and Arabic]Me: oh i also wanted to tell you i really like your skirt, and I was wondering who designed it?
Her: [looks up, laughing, clearly thinks I’m a nutcase] . . . well I’m really embarrassed to say . . . [leans over now, semi-whispering] . . . but it’s actually praaaada [and I swear that’s how “prada” sounded coming out of her mouth! to me anyways]
Me: oh wow, that’s terrific! [bugeyed, huge grin, head spinning, brain about to explode, queen noor likes prada! queen noor likes prada! dammit I thought it was marni, but prada is even better!!] thank you!
