The Beads

By Manolo

Manolo says, here is the report from the Telegraph of the London about the reappearance of the chunky beads.

Bright, chunky necklaces took the spring catwalks by storm but the home-spun look is easy to create yourself, says Clare Coulson

A fresh trend that hits the right note is easy to spot – it’s usually the one that is adopted by fashion editors as soon as, if not before, it makes its debut on the international catwalks. The return of colourful bead necklaces is a good example. After what seems like an eternity of sparkly, spangly jewels, we have seen the welcome return of chunky beads and necklaces that have a home-spun feel

The spring catwalks were awash with strands of bold beads. Marc Jacobs included shiny, primary-coloured plastic beads threaded on to stripy ribbon in his younger Marc line, where a fun, throw-it-together aesthetic rules. On the runway, he paired them with Eighties pop-inspired pieces, including faded denim, colourful layered jersey tops and bold prints. Miuccia Prada, another trendsetter, added chunky, primary-coloured bead necklaces to her sporty, vibrant separates.

Manolo says, this trend it was well reported during the Spring, 2005 fashion debut in the September.
